YES Futures

  • An inter-disciplinary, place-based project for students grades 6 - 12
  • Enables students to develop skills in historical inquiry, scientific investigation and leadership
  • Aligned with Common Core, Next Generation Science and College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies Standards and the NAAEE Guidelines for Excellent in Environmental Education
  • Aligned with the D.O.E. Strategic Plan and the Na Honua Mauli Ola - Hawaiian Cultural Pathways for Healthy and Responsive Learning Environments
  • Projects are centered on topics chosen by students to benefit their community
  • Designed as an opportunity for students to develop, present and discuss their ideas to community leaders
  • Top student project participants will be offered opportunities to collaborate with student leaders at an international level
